X, to me it's all about freedom. Ireland and it's people have historically given power and influence of their lives over to the church or to government. Would the potato famine have happened had the land not been owned by a handfull of people? I don't know, but my assumption is that if free enterprise had been allowed to flourish in Ireland, the people would have suffered far less and not been driven to America and her shores in such numbers.
