This reminds of Sun and the Ultra SPARC III, which they've announced but, as you've pointed out, are way late in delivering. Sun has had a nice ride with the "network is the computer" and "we're the dot in .COM" advertising, in spite of not refreshing their UE mid and high end server lines with faster chips. To me, from now on, that means they are going to get hurt if they don't correct that situation soon. They're still at 450 MHz MAX! I think W2000 and all the other OSs that run on Intel chips, and the Intel chips, will do the hurting.
