For the last few years we have been hearing about how more stocks are going down than are going up. That a few stocks are leading the charge. I wonder if this is a sign of some weakness or a sign of smarter investors. If those 64% of companies that are down were making money or growing revs like the inuts people would be investing in them. But if those companies either can't figure out how to exploit their market or are in a market that is past its prime then they should be going down. Survival of the fittest.

So I guess what I'm asking is, is it really a problem when 30-40% of stocks are making most of the gains?

Thanks,
jb
