<<I'd like to know more about construction but you have to start from the very beginning for me.>>....Well first you dig this big hole see .......Then the power people bring in the temporary power and the sanitation people bring in the temporary out house and the fence people build a temporary fence around the job site then the carpenter builds the forms then the plumber puts in drains and water mains and gas lines then the concrete is poured then the carpenter frames the building then the heating and air people install the ductwork then the plumber puts in the pipes and the electrician wires the building then the roofer roofs the building and and the stucco people wrap the building the heating and air people install the furnace and central air conditioning units the finish carpenter then hangs the exterior doors and puts up the exterior fascia board and the drywaller hangs the wall board then tapes it then the stucco people put on the scratch coat wait a few days and then do the brown coat wait a week or two and put on the color coat which would be followed by the gutters and downspouts being hung [sheetmetal people] meanwhile the plumber puts in the toilets tubs showers and the hot water heater and the heating and air people put in their venting and the finish carpenter hangs the interior doors and does the finish carpentry and installs the kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities and the plumber puts in the bathroom and kitchen sinks and the tile people tiles the bathrooms and kitchens and the hardwood flooring is then laid by the hardwood floor people and all this time the sanitation people come once a week to pump out the out house [ugh] and city inspectors come and go causing lots'o delays and painters then paint and then the electrician installs the fixtures and the switch plates and outlet covers and the plumbers install their bath and kitchen fixtures followed by the flooring people doing linoleum then the appliances are delivered the plumbers hook up the stove the hardwood floor is finished by the hardwood floor people and the flooring people lay the carpets and the temporary services are discontinued and final inspections are done and the electric and all other utilities are turned on......You are now a general contractor.
