I will post results from a screen I designed to identify
potential January effect stocks. The screening tool I used
is free, and it can be found at MSN.

The criteria for my first screen will be:

relative criterion:
YTD relative strength: low as possible

absolute criteria:
stock price > 1 1/2 (eliminates potential delisting candidates on Nasdaq)
market cap < $100 M
institutional ownership < 40%

additional absolute criteria to eliminate stocks with the worst fundamentals:
price/book < 4
price/cashflow > 0 (identifies stocks with pos. cashflow)

See the next post for results
