Jeff, all I know is that if I put a market order in for after hours and the stock is selling at $26 1/2, I must receive a fair market order. If an investor can be charged $28 1/2 for no reason, they can be charged $100 for no reason. The bottom line, there has to be a reason for the increase. CS is not known for a lot of after-hours market activity, but the little trading that it does has never warranted a $2.75 increase just for the hell of it. The specialist has to believe that the price was necessary in order to maintain an orderly market. CS has to open near the official closing "S price" of $28 or someone has been ripped off big time.... and that would not be tolerated on the NYSE..... maybe the BB can get away with it, but not on the NYSE.
