Do you think UAL, American, US Airways, Delta, Northwest, Continental and the others think Priceline is an insult to the way they do business? ...or that Sun thinks eBay is an insult to the way they do business? Absolutely not! You do not distinguish between retailing fine products versus retailing travel services. Ebay is a go between for world wide classifieds. The intention is to sell used product and was never expected to be a "classy look." PCLN is trying to promote products at the lowest price available to the consumer. Convenience is not what PCLN sells in any of its categories. Amazon is trying to sell "fine products", not be totally price concious and is trying to provide a service. The Zshops on Amazon llok like garbage. A shop selling toothpicks looks no different than a shop selling Jet Streams. I have never put down YHOO, PCLN, AOL, EBAY, etc. They are the real leaders in their respective fields. They have a business plan that they continue to improve. I can't tell if Amazon even has a plan anymore.
