Interesting analysis, Max. But I wonder, I believe many of Tencor's products are used to qualify new fabs as well as support ongoing research and/or production at all phases of wafer processing. So the idea that Tencor is a "back-end" supplier is suspect at best. Bonders, testers and probers are back-end, but surface inspection, profilers, thin film thickness, resistivity, stress. Are these back end?
