Eric, I don't see that X was criticizing any assistance that might have been received or arguing that money should NOT have been spent on nihil's niece (or any child) at all. X is a fiery defender of children's rights and our responsibility toward them. I thought she was pointing out that there WAS a relationship between society and nihil's niece even if it was only financial, and so she was in some respects, Society's Child-- as we all are.
