Wolf,

Yes, look back a few posts of mine on this thread, and you'll see I did pick up some more CD around $16 in my IRA. I added about another third more than I'd been holding previously.

QCOM votes on a split tomorrow (4 to 1), which will undoubtedly pass (most likely unanimously). It wouldn't surprise me to see them split again around March during the annual shareholders meeting (maybe a 2 or 3 for 1), since they've also asked for a bump from 300 million to 3 billion shares authorized at tomorrow's meeting. Even with the current 4 for 1 they'll only be at 600 million shares, so plenty of room for another one next year.

For Q to hit 10K from here, it will have to go up around 22x. This year (which isn't over yet) it's gone up around 18x. I'd settle for that... and be long retired by then if that was the case. Your story about buying at $265 reminds me of the somewhat queasy feeling I had buying shares at $170ish in both my own and my wife's IRA. I now look back at that and laugh at how silly the fear was (plus it was only about 2 months ago....and the stock is already up 2.5x). I've discovered that there are few things as awe inspiring as a gorilla getting it's legs under it for the first time.

Best wishes,

DWB
