OK, but my recollection of history, which may be faulty, is that in the end, businesses were not running the Third Reich. Thomas Pyncheon aside, and I am thinking specifically of Gravity's Rainbow, and its antecedents, a history of I.G. Farben. As you say, businesses thought they could control the Nazis, but it turned out otherwise. But I have never read a very good history of the end of the Third Reich, from the inside. My understanding is that both the United States and the Soviet Union grabbed as much of Nazi science as they could, and kept it quiet, e.g. Werner von Braun.
