They are an investor's instrument, and not suitable for options traders.the beauty of LEAPS and the feature that makes them unique in the universe of derivatives is that they don't require timing, just a correct call on the long term bias for the underlying security. Frank, LEAPS are just options. Don't be fooled by the trademark. You are buying a wasting asset. Just a contract that happens to expire on a later date. As for bet on "long term bias", remember that in the greater scheme of things, a year or two is not so long. Remember Dell?
