calypso:

The Monday offering is significant. Especially the New Internet Sync Service-- with CIC AS "THE" Standard for the whole internet--with wireless implications on the side!

PUMA has gone up a lot lately in dollar value on the markets and is quoted as being one of the most 'up' internet related stocks this year in the G&M newspaper this am (some 3000%--from memory).

Also please note the increased communications contacts at bottom. Perhaps someone could check that out. Getting CIC Communications up to the new needed speed? or getting ready for something? or both?. Is area code 408 west coast USA?-- "Power PR"-- a great and needed addition if they live up to their name!

Certicom Expands Partnership With Puma Technology to Provide Extensive Security for Intellisync.com

New Internet Synchronization Service to be Secured With Certicom's SSL Plus Security Technology

HAYWARD, Calif., December 20, 1999

Certicom, a leading provider of next-generation encryption technology, and Puma Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: PUMA), a leading provider of mobile device management and synchronization software, today announced a licensing agreement whereby Puma will secure its free Internet-based synchronization service, Intellisync.com?, with encryption technology designed by Certicom. Scheduled to be available in the first calendar quarter of 2000, Intellisync.com will allow anyone with Internet access to keep popular PC applications, mobile devices, and Web-based content and services synchronized from one central address on the Internet.

"Security is a key issue for consumers browsing the Internet and synchronizing critical data with their mobile device," said Brad Rowe, Puma Technology CEO and president. "Our goal is to provide the synchronization infrastructure for the Internet, and we are happy to extend our partnership with Certicom to add optimal security technology to both our Intellsync.com synchronization service as well as our Intellisync Anywhere family of products."

"Intellisync.com is an innovative new synchronization service designed to make the process of managing mobile data even easier for consumers," said Rick Dalmazzi, president and CEO of Certicom. "The addition of our trusted security technology makes Intellisync.com more attractive to users who want to be assured that their personal information is protected at all times."

About Intellisync.comâ
Intellisync.com features Puma's industry-unique Progressive Synchronizationâ technology, which automatically synchronizes data across various wireless devices, applications and Internet services with no user interaction required. For example, a consumer might be equipped with a WAP-based cellular phone and service, a Palm Computing device, use Microsoft Outlook for calendar and e-mail at the office, while subscribing to a free Hotmail account for personal e-mail use. By subscribing to Intellisync.com, this individual can keep all data from each of these sources automatically in sync with every other source, with no active intervention. So a critical new business contact and phone number added to Outlook at the office migrates into the cellular phone. Or a change to an important subscribed Web page is automatically downloaded and synchronized to the Palm device and the user is notified. Intellisync.com will be user configurable to link all popular devices, applications and Web content, thereby eliminating the need to re-enter information, or even to delete old information multiple times.

The integration of Certicom's SSL Plus for Embedded Systemsâ security technology with Intellisync.com will offer users additional trust and assurance that their sensitive data will be protected during synchronization.

Created by Netscape four years ago, SSL has rapidly become the most widely used security protocol in the industry. Certicom's SSL Plusâ toolkit is the industry's most widely deployed commercial SSL product, due largely to its ease of use, rapid development time, and support for RSA, DSA/Diffie-Hellman, and Elliptic Curve cryptography - the only SSL product with that capability.

Certicom's SSL Plus and ECC security technology has become a leading standard for highly resource-constrained devices such as smart cards and handheld computers that require military-grade cryptographic protection. AT&T, Intuit, Lotus, Oracle, Phillips Consumer Electronics, QUALCOMM and Sun Microsystems are a few of the world-renowned organizations who have partnered with Certicom to build security into a wide range of applications and products for the Internet, enterprise, and wireless networks worldwide.
