Nice mention in "Stock Secrets," for whatever it's worth...

"My hot pick for the week is Etrade. It has had a nice run up over the past month, but fell $5 last week. It is still more than 50% off its 52 week high. Online line brokers have been greatly overlooked during NASDAQ's most recent runup, but are starting to gain investors attention again. With NASDAQ volumes rising by staggering rates OLB's are going to be the big beneficiaries. Etrade will also benefit from NASDAQ extending its hours in the near future. Etrade will continue to gain a record number of accounts as it tries to pass Schwab as the #1 OLB. Investors will have to be patient while the company continues to post small quarterly losses because of its aggresive marketing campaign to build its customer base. The possible merger of Etrade and Telebanc will only strengthen Etrade's position as the #1 financial site on the web. Also, look for Etrade to make smaller strategic acquisitions to help it dominate the other OLB's. Make sure to look at the charts. This time last year is when I made my initial investment into etrade, and also opened my Etrade account. I know that this time last year is when the stock started to make its big run, and it has started to repeat history again. Buy this industry leader before it is to late. The current price as of 12/17/99 is $30.0625"

2Rip: Delighted to see you join SI. This is an excellent thread, and will save you a lot of time due to the fact that our bozo-post ratio is exceedingly low. Welcome--and don't stay a lurker--jump in whenever you've got something to add or ask.

I'm headed this morning to the frigid heartland of America for Christmas, and will be there for a couple of weeks or better (already starting to get the withdrawal DTs--my Mom has cable but no computer, and trying to check EGRP and WAVX by watching CNBC may drive me crazy...).

I wish everyone a great holiday season.
