MacDonald Mines Exploration Ltd. - Announcement
Toronto, Canada--
MacDonald Mines Exploration Ltd. (CDNX-MMP.A) ("MacDonald Mines")
announces that at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, in Havana, Cuba, counsel
for GeoMinera S.A., advised the company that its application for
a 3-year extension of its exclusive exploration contract in Cuba,
had been approved by the advisory committee to the Minister of
Basic Industries. The approval recommendation will now be
addressed to the Executive Committee of Cuba's Council of
Ministers for ratification of the exploration contract's
amendment upon special resolution of the Council.
In a separate transaction completed that evening, the company's
current obligations previously accrued under the contract, were
discharged with the proceeds of the sale of surplus assets
totaling some $325,000.
The company expects to recommence exploration work in its
original 2,000 square kilometer concession in east central Cuba,
early next year. A technical meeting to settle the parameters of
the program, is scheduled for mid January, in Havana.
