New Home Theater E-Commerce Division, www.HOMtheater.com to be Unveiled in Early 2000
SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 20, 1999--Media Concepts, Inc (OTC-BB MDCE) is a California based media technology company. The company is uniquely positioned to leverage its expertise in consumer electronics, home theater, e-commerce and filmed entertainment to become a leading force in the multi-media industry.
Core Business
Media Concepts, Inc.'s core business is the marketing and distribution of it's proprietary film and literary library. The library consists of millions of feet of distributable and marketable media. Content ranges from:
- Actual footage of early 1900's Cliffhangers
- Films, news clips, Sports events
- Full length motion pictures
Media Concepts is in the process of organizing, indexing and packaging this library to maximize it's revenue potential. Marketing plans include signing additional distribution agreements and marketing alliances with web based video streaming partners, and other industry marketing partners to further maximize the revenue potential of this library.
Additionally, the Company owns the republishing, film and television rights to 40 novels written by a well-known novelist.

The current management team brings to Media Concepts, Inc. extensive experience in the design, sale, marketing and installation of high-end Home Theater and Home Automation entertainment systems. The company is currently developing an e-commerce division focused on the home theater enthusiast market. The site is designed to be an ''all inclusive'' Internet portal for consumers interested in the Home Theater, Home Automation and Home Entertainment Market. The site will contain original content, such as, cutting edge feature articles, product reviews and ratings, indexing for product searches, a personal shoppers guide, music reviews, movie reviews and a glossary of technical terms covering such topics as High definition TV, DVD, DTS, AC-3, THX, High-speed Networks, and more...
Additionally the site will contain interactive components, such as, an ''Ask the Expert'' section, chat rooms, message boards, contests, streaming video and streaming audio section, product seminars, design consulting, a music download section, a shopping mall directory, and numerous other interactive features and events.
In the ''Design-a-Home-Theater'' section consumers can use proprietary Computer Aided Design program to create their own Home Theater experience. Upon entering the room dimensions, the product and design specifications, a three dimensional view of the room will be created.
The site will contain a shopping channel where consumers can purchase the latest home Theater products, such as dedicated home theaters, individual electronic components, surround receivers, high definition TVs, big screen TVs, speakers, DVD players, VCR's, posters movie memorabilia and unique home theater upgrades and interior add ons.
Media Concepts is currently aligning itself with the leading internet technology companies in streaming video, streaming audio, e-commerce internet marketing and advertising, and MP3 Music downloading.
Revenues are expected to be generated from the sale of products, advertising sales, affiliate programs, and Media Concepts, Inc.'s own proprietary turn key Home Theater design package.
The Market
Fueled by consumer demand for new digital technologies and home information and entertainment products, total yearly consumer electronics sales are expected to grow to a record $79 billion in 1999. The 1999 sales forecast released by Consumer Electronics Manufacturers Association (''CEMA'') represents a strong 5 percent increase over 1998 sales of roughly $76 billion, continuing the solid growth seen in the industry throughout the 1990's.
The overall home information market has grown 76 percent during the past five years to more than $36 billion.
According to a new CEMA survey, nearly 75% of American adults are aware of home systems and a majority is interested in owning products that use technology to manage a wide range of tasks.
CEMA and the Custom Electronics Design & Installers Association (''CEDIA'') announced the results of a joint survey on the home theater industry that revealed home theater sales of approximately $10.6 billion in 1998.
Home theater is a growing trend with American families. Today, 20 percent of U.S. households own a home theater system, compared to only 4 percent five years ago. Home theater provides a valuable entertainment outlet that's enjoyable for the whole family and let's them participate in an activity together.
Approximately 40 percent of home theater sales are sold through custom installers.
The Management
Erik Vidrio serves as the Company's president. Mr. Vidrio has designed, remodeled and built elite custom residences in Southern California. As a contractor, he has worked extensively with architects, designers, subcontractors and suppliers in the building and design industry. He has experience in the newest computer technology including Web design, multimedia presentations and production, CAD design and rendering, animation, A/V System programming, 3-D modeling, and the latest in home automation. Mr. Vidrio has extensive acoustical training. He has a degree from Trebas Institute and served an apprenticeship under a Grammy award winning acoustics expert. He is the primary architect of the Company's proprietary turn key Home Theater design package.
William Palmer is the company's executive vice president and in charge of production operations and film and video production. He has worked in the motion picture business since 1980 including positions at Universal, Paramount, MGM, and Warner Bros.. His credits included work on such films as ''Top Gun,'' ''Field of Dreams,'' ''Down and Out in Beverly Hills,'' ''Kalifornia,'' ''Candyman,'' ''Twister,'' ''Turbulence,'' ''Penny's from Heaven,'' ''Fatman and Little Boy,'' and ''Three Amigos.'' His television credits include, ''Max Headroom,'' ''Chips,'' ''Cheers,'' ''Defiant Ones,'' ''Dawns Early Light,'' ''A-Team,'' ''and Beauty and the Beast.''
Ricardo Wallace Siqueira is the technology and systems integrator for the company. His background includes Home Automation programming and implementation, Web design, multimedia and CD-ROM authoring, 3D modeling and virtual reality programming. He has a BS in Education from Boston University, is a certified advanced Phast programmer. Ricardo has programmed and integrated some of the most advanced home automation systems in Southern California. Mr. Siqueira's technological background brings the cutting edge flavor to the company.
