Is there anyone out there who does not think we will see a stock split in the next month?

From Japan(Not related):

Japan's PC Sales Reach Record High in Fourth Week of Nov.
December 20, 1999 (TOKYO) -- PC sales at electric appliance retail stores in Japan staged a remarkable growth and surpassed the previous record in the fourth week of November.

PC retailers are enjoying very brisk business. The quick-paced business is expected to reach its peak in the first week of December. Because sales in the fourth week of November 1999 exceeded last year's peak, this year's sales peak will likely be higher than that of last year.

Japan's PC sales in the fourth week of November (Nov. 22-28, 1999) at about 2,000 volume retailers increased by 15.6 percent in units and 15.8 percent in value compared with the previous week, according to GfK Japan Ltd.

GfK Japan is an information service company dealing with POS data of 55 household electric appliance retail stores.

PC sales rose 48.3 percent in terms of units and 30.0 percent by value compared with the same week in the previous year (Nov. 23-29, 1998).

The average retail price rose 423 yen to 203,643 yen from a week earlier.

Sales of desktop/tower models rose almost 20 percent from a week earlier, and exceeded by 5 percent the peak of the year-end shopping season of 1998. Sales of notebook PCs also exceeded the peak of the previous year-end shopping season by 1 percent. Because of Taiwan's earthquake in September, supply shortages and price increases were thought to have hurt PC sales. But it turns out that the impact was not great.

However, sales in value failed to exceed the record. This is because less-expensive models are very popular. The average retail price has been around the level of 200,000 yen for five consecutive weeks. (102.94 yen = US$1)

GfK Japan collects POS data from 55 IT-related retail sales companies centering on high-volume stores specializing in home electric appliances. It covers about 3,200 stores (as of April 1998) throughout Japan.

In cooperation with GfK Japan, Nikkei Market Access provides weekly reports of PC sales in volume and value.

The sales data has been based on the same 41 companies (with about 2,000 stores) since April 1996.

The number of PCs sold at the 2,000 stores is estimated to comprise about 10 percent of gross domestic shipments, and when limiting the sales to the retail sales channel, the share comes to about 25 percent of such shipments.
