frank.

apparently, Huber is infamous for operating in stealth mode, which according to one anonymous analyst borders on "arrogance and paranoia." indeed, all analysts who speak with Corvis do so only after signing NDAs that cover their goods. is this standard (optical industry) practice?

one other tidbit i gleaned from a recent Washington Post article:

"The sales cycle for Corvis products is expected to last from six to eight months. Corvis is about to enter the testing stage with several potential customers, although it will not be ready to announce the names of those prospects for at least a couple of weeks. 'It is not a fast sales cycle,' [exec veep] Falcao says, because the customers are 'betting their business on you.'"

in light of [no pun] the dwindling number of free agents (read: the Qtera and Pirelli acquisitions), i can't decide if this race is getting more or less interesting ...

sorry i can't be more helpful,
-chris.
