Network Appliance Celebrates the Holidays by Joining Nasdaq 100 and Making Donation to Second Harvest Food Bank

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 16, 1999-- Network Appliance Inc., (NASDAQ: NTAP) the leading provider of network-attached data access and management solutions, today announced that effective December 20th it will be added to the Nasdaq 100(R).

Today's announcement crowns a year of financial, market and product successes for NetApp(R). To mark the occasion, NetApp also announced a combined employee and corporate matching donation of $20,000 to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties is a private nonprofit organization that collects and distributes more than 19 million pounds of food each year to low income children, adults and seniors. The Food Bank currently serves an average of 116,400 individuals each month; nearly 50% are children. During the holiday season, Second Harvest holds the largest food drive in the nation with a goal of raising 2 million pounds of food and $2 million.
