F5 Networks Recognized as a Top Emerging Company by Computerworld

A panel of industry experts compiles a list of 100 start-ups to watch in 2000
SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 20, 1999--F5 Networks, Inc., (Nasdaq:FFIV - news), a leading provider of Internet Traffic and Content Management products, today announced that it has been recognized by Computerworld as a top emerging company and is included in the publication's distinguished list of the ``top 100 emerging companies to watch in 2000.'

Computerworld's panel of experts, who evaluated nearly 600 companies, were asked to rate the finalists and compile a list of the top 100 companies based on the following criteria:

The company and its technology must offer demonstrable value to corporate IT operations in Fortune 1,000 companies.
The company is innovative, the product or service presents a new and creative approach to an IT issue, and the product or service competes in a relatively new or emerging market.
The company demonstrates an ability to execute its strategy in terms of revenue, revenue growth, funding, and its management team.
``Computerworld takes pride in the selective criteria and discerning panelists that surround this award,' said Peter Horan, senior vice president and publisher at Computerworld. ``There are so many companies with new, compelling technologies and products, making it difficult for IT decision makers to effectively evaluate products. The intent of Computerworld's review is twofold. First, to help IT leaders filter through the mass of companies and products and second, to honor these emerging companies that our panel rates as the very best.'

``F5 Networks has always strived to be a leader across all fronts and has focused on developing the highest quality products, building a world-class sales and distribution channel, and hiring the best people,' said Jeff Hussey, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer at F5 Networks. ``This ongoing objective has substantiated F5 as a leader and a long-term player in the market.'
