Qestion to experienced short sellers: Have you ever being forced to cover your short position while the stock is dropping?

My confusion is suppose DATEK account holders have total 10K share in margin acct, thus available to borrow to short. You sold 10K short. If they sell the 10K shares, and DATEK was unable to borrow from another source, Will DATEK automatically cover your short position in your short account? Thanks,
