It's AMD's concern - not mine. I don't know the answer to this. That's why I asked. Maybe it's not an issue. But, I doubt it. AMD did not lower the voltage going to .18um. Unless they lower gate and wiring capacitance considerably in their .18um process, the power will increase well beyond the max power they experienced at .25um and will approach 70W at 1 GHz or above. On the other hand, the .18um Intel process is not likely to exceed the max power level experienced at 600MHz in .25um even at 1GHz in .18um. Maybe this is the cost of using approx. double the number of devices to improve the "architecture thingy". Maybe not. We'll see soon as 1 GHz is getting closer.
