Ticker Symobol IC.d Vs IC

ICICI's American Depositary Shares (ADS) are listed on the NYSE under two symbols IC and IC.D on account of the following:-

ICICI has issued ADSs on the NYSE on September 22, 1999 which carry the symbol IC.D

These ADS holders are entitled to dividends paid for fiscal 2000, if any, on a pro rata basis from the date of issuance of the equity shares represented by the ADSs, i.e. September 27, 1999.

ICICI has also delisted its outstanding Global Depositary receipts (GDRs) on the London Stock Exchange and exchanged them for ADSs on the NYSE, which carry the symbol IC

These GDR's and the underlying equity shares representing the GDR's have been outstanding from April 1, 1999, and therefore are entitled to full dividend paid if any, for fiscal 2000.

It may be noted that ICICI has declared and paid dividends since fiscal 1956. The dividend paid for fiscal 1999 was Rs. 5.50 for every equity share of the company of face value Rs. 10/- each. Each ADS represents five equity shares. Therefore in fiscal 1999, an ADS holder would have received US$ 0.63 per ADS (assuming an exchange rate of Rs. 43.50 per US$ 1.00).

After the record date for the payment of dividends for fiscal 2000, if any, all ADSs would automatically trade under the symbol IC.
