heinz,

Like everyone else, we'll just have to wait and see. I've read up on the subject a bit. Mostly US, Asia, former Soviet Union and eastern block and third world, but it occurs to me that I've missed much discussion on the state of Europe and the mid-east...what's the report from Europe?

I certainly wouldn't be shocked to see the grid or phone systems collapse in Russia or the Bahamas, for example; one could even expect some localized power losses in the US from smaller utilities. Asia...roll the dice. Suppose the grid collapses in Japan for two weeks...I'm not even sure how to estimate the impact. Immediately, it is probably "large"; one year from now...????

I will have a little extra cash on hand though. <g>
