Yeah don't you just love this comment:

CBSMW: So we haven't seen any short-term affects of the growing online brokers like E-Trade (EGRP: news, msgs), Ameritrade (AMER: news, msgs) or National Discount Brokers (NDS: news, msgs)?

Solotar: No, and I don't think you'll see it in the long term. The product offering of Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley Dean Witter are fairly robust. They offer a combination of an online product that can be supported with branches -- the ability to walk into a branch is extremely compelling. If you think back to Charles Schwab (SCH: news, msgs), Schwab found that over time it needed to build up its branch sites. I think that over time the full-service offerings end up garnering more of the market share.

PS: sounds like they are in denial.
