I think JDN is right ... soft times(holidays) and maybe a little y2k anxiety built in to some issues. Jan. should show a return to fair value.

FWIW ... this will be COST 3rd split. I don't remember the specifics but, there was a 2 for 1 split (I believe in 1990) followed by a 3 for 2 a couple years later. I originally bought 200 shares at the IPO in 1984 and I now have 600 from that purchase ... along the way I have bought more shares in my IRA. My return on that original purchase has been slightly over 23% per year for these past 15 years!! I kinda like that and expect it will fluctuate from time to time but I think we can expect 20%+- ROI over the long term!!!
