Well no. You wouldn't want to sniff up 40 million lines of Windows.

On the other hand you make a good analogy as Windows is designed by marketing specialists and focus groups to give the 'user' the perception that she is receiving value, being a part of current culture and doing something useful (productivity) with something 'innovative'. Windows is very much like cocaine that way.

You're smarter than that though and you can provide an objective review of the w2k value once you've got it whirring. I'm mostly curious as to how much less you'll use the internet browser. Will we read you here on SI less? Will you be more 'productive' elsewhere?
