Jeff,
I had another post-op yesterday and my vision continues to improve each day, just as predicted. I'm also satisfied with my night vision which was mostly clear and sharp when I drove 90 minutes on the freeway Sunday night. The only indication is a very small flare from any large bright light on a dark background which I'm told will go away. I have no halos or star patterns, though.
As to why not treat the other eye, they have told me that it would help me with my reading. I've accepted their suggestion without too much inquiry but I am keeping it in the back of my mind though and have not ruled it out in the future. Currently I also have an excellent comparison to track the changes as the eye adjusts to the Intacs. I'm continually checking things out through one eye and then the other.
I'm still very satisfied with the product and feel that Keravision has done an excellent job in putting the whole package together. I'm not sure how much they are involved with how each office operates, but each and every member of the Aris Vision office (which is where I had mine here in Sacramento) was extremely helpful. Not your usual medical office take-a-number-and-wait scenario.
If you are thinking about having the procedure, just go in for their free evaluation. I originally went in August and didn't get back to them until this month. (I just didn't have the time). Nobody ever called to pester me or did I ever feel obligated. They didn't ask for payment ($2250)until the day of the procedure. All in all, a class operation.
