Anyone: I don't really understand this after hours trading. Is it mostly significant for how a stock should perform the next day or what?

Also, is there a good site to get these trades? If I add an ".e" over at Schwab I can get them--but it can be a pain in the neck getting into the account just for a quick after hours (or during hours) quote.
