Jim There can be considerable lag between API numbers and usage. They are as of last Friday (AM?/PM?). Crude probably has the shortest span between measurement and usage. Gas has a shorter span in urban areas and probably longer in rural areas. Heat can sit in dealer's tanks for a while before sale to consumers. Remember that the colder weather arrived after last Friday. I think they look very good, especially gas. Thats a hell of a high gas demand this time of year. Another thing I am expecting is that everyone and his brother are going to be topping off their heating oil tanks between Christmas and New Year's. Y2K may be a big nothing but, just in case, you don't want your family freezing. I can't understand the NG selloff in the face of very cold weather in primary NG area (midwest). John
