Globe says company has the bucks to cherry pick deals

The Globe and Mail reports in its Saturday, April 19, edition that Ted
Carter, author of Carter's Choice newsletter, only recommends companies
with "lots of bucks in the bank" these days, because many juniors will have
trouble raising money, especially if Bre-X turns out to be a bust. The
Globe's Shirley Won writes in her column At Your Own Risk that Mr Carter
says companies will need lots of cash to do the exploration work and come
up with results to drive up their stock. He says well financed juniors can
also cherry pick some of the companies with little cash and end up with
some lucrative joint venture deals. One junior Mr Carter likes is Peruvian
Gold Ltd. The company, which has about $14 million in the bank, has a
copper prospect in Peru and is going to be drilling in the next week or so,
he says.
