I'm sure you do not condone cruelty to animals. If you support the premise that man should be limited in some ways from abusing animals then why not the corollary that animals have the right to be free from excessive pain at the hands of man? Of course maybe you don't agree with statutes on the books involving cruelty to animals. But if you do, for instance, agree with a law that does not permit an animal owner to starve his animal to death does that not imply the animal had a right not to be starved to death? As these laws already exist then I would say that animal rights already exist. <<
