There is something there, I missed it.

Wishful thinking alters perception. Some money on our hip, a visit to "our" track, the stock market, getting caught up in the excitement can result in forgetting to test our theories. The stock market bookies are only a telephone call away.

The market touts surround us shouting. Some power of will is required to ignore them.

We all have the capability to deceive ourselves and the brighter we are the more capable we can be at doing it.
