I beg to differ. #3 is the least of your worries. The competition will shoot itself in the foot even before they run out of money.
But, #1, #2, and #4 may be systemic. Heads may have to roll. But even before that happens, there has to be some recognition that something is wrong.
Intel culture at this point is analagous to a super tanker. Stopping it from going the wrong direction and reversing course may not be all that easy.
When I first evaluated Craig Barrett, I saw a more human side that I thought would be good for Intel. Having a life outside of Intel (ranch in Montana), now that I look at it, may not be compatible with Intel culture.
It is, if nothing esle, a 24/7 job. You can't phone it in, you really can't do it from the ranch.
