That was ugly. Did you call them to find out the reason they covered your short? Was that margin call related? Or because the shares become unavailable? I am interested to know if they can lawfully do that: lend you the share for short position, then push it higher, then cover your short without letting you know. That could be too easy to make money if a big broker want to manipulate a thin-trading stock.
