RE That might point to a fallacy behind all of this cheering going on over the shortage of Intel parts. I know this shortage represents a tremendous opportunity for AMD and Athlon. But the fact that the shortage still exists tells me that AMD isn't able to pick up Intel's slack.

Excuse me, Tench, how exactly is AMD supposed to pick up the slack when two of the major OEMs (Dell and GTW) are exclusively contracted with intc?

But beyond that question, what's really remarkable is that there is a shortage at all in light of intc's huge production capacity. Clearly a case of poor execution.

And what's even more amazing is that, in spite of this obviously very poor performance on the part of intc, you have the chutzpah to come over here and criticize AMD's performance. Unbelievable!
