I already said goodnight, Christine, but I've not had many pleasant exchanges today and could not resist this one.

My TOU ref. had nothing to do with anything Blue wrote but was yet another expression of my view relating to a long and enervating series of posts that you could not GIVE me Mr. Christine's voice to summarize.

I like your husband! At least I think we could have a few beers and listen to some tunes. The very best Jim Reeves collection (by far) I've ever seen was one of those not-available-in-stores things that is advertised on cable TV late at night.

The old Hank Williams stuff is great but often the recordings reflect their primitive origins. I'm not sure exactly what's available now. There is another Hank Williams (not Jr. who did/does the Monday Night Football intro) but a Hank Williams III (I presume part of the family). Anyway, III has a new CD that is very much in the style of the original Hank -- great stuff, I think. You might look Hank III up on Amazon and see if it's possible to sample.

I may next try to hook you on Zachary Richard (known in some circles as the Cajun Mick Jagger). His Snake Bite Love CD is part of the core collection in this house. Among favorites are the final cut (quite lively but VERY sad) about a Cajun family that moved to the Bay Area. AND - there is a long cut in the middle that is not only a beautiful song but a powerful environmental story. Please don't start posting global warming links to me, but, I promise, we can both be in love with "Sunset on Louisianne".
I have quite a lot of Cajun music and love that part of the world -- have you spent time there?

Very glad to know you took a flyer on Keane. I am supremely confident that you will like this. The title cut, "Solid Ground," is a tree-hugger ditty all the way. Please make your praise public after you have listened -- I am not certain of my good standing on Feelies and any endorsement from The Founder could only boost my stock.

I'm going to bed now. I really mean it this time -

Mike
