Jeff--I've always wondered if those cosmetic printing error didn't belie a larger problem. Apparently cory thinks that they do:

>>>R., these are more than just an embarrassment, like the BondMaster
problem, these are indications that the organization has not done
end-to-end testing using a time machine.

If they had, there is no way that end-user visible problems would show
up. These are the easy ones to find. The hard problems, where a small
percentage of records are purged or mis-sorted, are yet to show up.

Chase Manhattan's BondMaster problem and DSS' IT meltdown took a while
to show up.

I'm less interested in "1900 on printed reports" now. In the next few
weeks or month, we should see general IT problems on the increase.

Just like the strange collection of problems at the end of November and
start of December, there should be another wave starting. These are the
ones that we need to watch for. I expect *every* state government to
have IT problems.

The press probably won't pick these up right away. There is a strong
sense of denial.

You and S.P. are correct; these are not too much to track.
Unfortunately, I've about run out of "free time".
