OT -- DAK, I find it peculiar that you need to debate this. As they say, different strokes for different folks. Greenberg certainly missed the CREE story. Someone reading his pieces would have thought this was a pump and dump story about pseudo diamonds rather than an emerging (and possibly dominant in its niche) technology company. Reading the SI thread would have enlightened him, probably.
My own investment style is probably 85% long term hold of technology companies whose business I understand. On top of that, I do some short-term trading when market conditions warrant it. My long term track record is triple digit returns, so obviously it works for me.
I like many, many data inputs. (For instance, I read your posts on the INCY thread with interest -- I have held, and traded, INCY longer than, well a long time.) Hands down I'd take the mixed bag at TheStreet over Barron's, which I also read, and which IMHO just doesn't get the current market.
Very best wishes for the holiday season and a prosperous new millenium.
