Thanks for the interesting post. I haven't been to Cochin or Trivandrum in almost 30 years so I'm a bit out of the loop.

Would be most appreciative if you or others can provide any insight or links as to history of IT development in South India. My initial question is why Bangalore? Silicon Valley was a curious admixture of Stanford University, companies like Fairchild Semiconductor and Intel, and a less conservative atmosphere that encouraged risk taking and venture capital.

What did it for Bangalore?
