Marshall, Interesting question and response on femtosecond lasers. I was looking for companies that are in that business, mostly from the perspective of increasing the capacity of fiber optic communications through a technique called wave division multiplexing. One recent IPO in that market is Ciena, which can increase the capacity 16 fold today -- shipping products. Read a related piece about Lucent development that increases the capacity by 206 fold, but that requires femtosecond lasers, which in turn raises this question -- is this technology just on the drawing board or is it ready to hit the market?
