Hi Ken- Good guess. As you may know, both companies count T as 50% customers. But HLIT is considerably smaller. The exact figures are somewhere on the Last Mile thread. From what I recall, HLIT and ANTC compete for T's metro DWDM business. HLIT had a head start on ANTC, but ANTC does offer a comparable product. Maybe, as you speculate, there is something going on in with this particular equipment contract? I don't believe, but am not certain, the M-DWDM product was generating significant revenues for ANTC anyway. So it's kind of hard to understand, if it's related to M-DWDM, why ANTC is taking a beating today. -MikeM(From Florida)
PS BTW and FWIW- I have a position in HLIT via my CUBE position. I figure it's much safer to maintain my CUBE position rather than purchase a lofty HLIT position. Although, I did some trading in HLIT shares when it got smacked badly after the Divicom(CUBE) announcement. That was a short term, no-brainer. |
