Confirmation from Sun: I received a response from Sun to my query about the A3500FC. As expected they described it as a fibre device that can be used with hubs and switches. They told me their plans were to support this device with a "storage consolidation switch" and that this would occur "in the not too distant future". For the translation, just click on my previous post (see above). I think this basically confirms the content of my previous post. My guess is that there will be another release about the StorEdge A5X00, when it is upgraded from hubs to switches. Don't ask me any more - that is literally all I know. George D.
