Re Branding: Jacobs just said that KYO has the "right" to use the Qualcomm brand on current models but future models will require futher discussion.

An interesting perspective. He seems to be thinking it would be in KYO's best interest consider using the Q brand for handsets. If I were KYO I might see things a little differently.

The answer seemed a little vague, my take is that not much discussion has taken place on the subject.
