January 1st Newsweek features an article "A Pig May Someday Save Your Life" by Geoffrey Cowley. Forecasts that xenotransplantation will generate $6 billion a year by 2010. Currently only 1/3 of the 180,000 people awaiting human-donor organs will get them. Mentions research at Imutran in Cambridge, England and a company from Priceton, N.J., Nextran, that is focusing on raising genetically altered pigs.
