CALCUTTA, Dec. 22
OGDEN Energy Pacific Ltd of the US will partner Development Consultants-Kuljian group, and State-owned West Bengal Power Development Corporation Ltd (WBPDCL) to implement the second and the final stage of the Bakreswar Thermal Power Project (BkTPP).
Development Consultants (DC) is a city-based privately managed transnational consulting engineering group comprising three companies, of which one is called Development Consultants India Ltd (DCL). One of the group affiliates is the Kuljian Corporation (TKC), US. The joint venture agreement is between Ogden Asia Pacific, the DCL-TKC group and the WBPDCL.
The agreement was signed here on Tuesday in the presence of the West Bengal Chief Minister, Mr. Jyoti Basu, after the inauguration by him of the 13th Industrial India Trade Fair organised by the Bengal National Chamber of Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BNCCI).
Ogden's Country Manager and Vice-President (South Asia), Mr. L. Patrick Hart, told Business Line that the group was already associated with five power projects in the country, which were in various stages of implementation. With a 60 per cent equity in stage two of the Bakreswar project, Ogden would have the controlling stake.
Ogden is an internationally well-known power plant developer, which uses both conventional and non-conventional energy sources, according to Mr. Hart. |
