I had an old 200 datsun that I bought for $40 from a friend. it was sitting in his driveway and hadn't run in over 4 years. To make a long story short (and me not being a mechanic), I managed to get the thing running, got it smog certified, and eventually had a running workable car.

My wife (when we first got married) got to drive that car (a stickshift).
