John, I am extremely troubled by you calling Maffei a "bean counter". I work for Microsoft and know Maffei and can assure you that he is anything but a bean counter. He has built a world class organization at Microsoft and orchestrated many difficult acquisitions. He has great rapport with analysts and ALWAYS has the shareholders interests at heart. He has been instrumental in making Microsoft as great as it is today. If there is any overriding reason that Maffei is leaving it must be because he is bored! A man with his talents and abilities aspires to do more and there is very little room left at the top at Microsoft. I wish him the best at his new endeavor. Ed Schultz
