I think rising interest rates are problematic for valuations in general.

WEB keeps the maturities of his bonds on the short side so unrealized capital losses won't be that big.

What he needs most is a bear market that creates value among things he understands and a turnaround in the PC and reinsurance businesses. I think it's just a matter of time for both to occur.

I believe you are getting a company that is very well positioned to take advantage of the inevitable bust and WEB's double value added investment expertise all at a price that makes sense. Generally they pay up for Warren.
