I look for at least for columns at the same general level. If you look at HM you will see 5 columns with the lows at 7.5 forming a triple bottom. I find that stocks don't hit a bottom and then just launch back up, even when look at P&F which is not time sensitive as you have noted. I do look at other charts, but generally for shorter term stuff and not to look for the basing action.
